restoring my grandfathers 360

Hello ,I just joined the club recently. My dad, granfather,and uncle were all members back int he early 80's. I was just going thru old news leters from 1980-1986 that my granfather had gave to me. Some of you who were in the club back then might remeber my grandfather dale smith from mt.vernon ohio.He had a sedan a/c. Anyway I was only 4 years old in 1980 and thought the little 360 was the funnest thing to play in.I think most little kids like to play in a 360! My grandparents towed it behind a ultra van when they went on vacations. Looked like the ultra van had a baby!!1981 was the last year it was on the road. At least the last year it was plated.This was due to the clutch not ingaging for some reason. My grandfather moved to kansas in 1986 and took the little 360 along.After telling my grandfather about my interest in it he gave it to me last year. So it made its way back to ohio.My dream of over twenty years of fixing the 360 up and driving it on the road is starting to come true. I have the 360 torn apart and found the autoclutch had worn pinion gear bushings, bad bearing, stuck brush, and some messed up aluminum spacers that I'm not sure what they are for.There are lots of things I want/need to due to the car.I quess I'll figure it all out with the help of the 360 club!

That is a GREAT story. Subaru 360 blood runs thru you brother! You may be the youngest person on this board to have the 360 bug.

I wish I knew something about the auto clutch transmission to help you out, but I don't.

Ed may know how the autoclutch works. Hopefully, you and your car will be back on the road soon....Subaru 360 style.
