Hello to all,

My name is Ron and I joined the club last September as a 360 "wanna-be." Well, now I R one! Yep, I recently picked up a 70 model Deluxe sedan. I am Norman, Ok and am good friends with Oldone. It was with his encouragement that helped me find a 360 and even loaned me his trailer so that I had a way to transport it. I've been reading up on the forum and have garnered lots of very helpful information concerning the 360s. I've had interest in cars for all my life. My sedan is in need of much TLC and more. It is going to take lots of time, advice, parts and work to put in the condition that I hope to achieve. I doubt it will ever be show quality, but a cute little car that I can drive around and be delighted to own. Only time will tell! I hope that I may be able to contribute to the forum members in the future. I know I will benefit from joining the club and meeting new friends here. I will post some pictures after I figure out how...hopefully soon. :D

Welcome Ron,

Not sure if being connected to Oldone is good or not, but we're happy to have you. I've heard he's missing a few hubcaps himself if you know what I mean. Of course everyone here want to see your gem with pictures. There's a picture tutorial in the index or simply use the button below

Welcome Ron Great to have you. You and I are lucky to be geographically close to another 360 enthusiast. I can save on shipping and it's good to have someone to call if you need a hand or advice that knows what car your looking at. If I can help just drop me a line. Careful though these things are addicting. Can't wait to see some pics. If you email them to me at ssi_kjones@wvdsl.net I'd be glad to post them.

Oldone:

There were 2 360s that were sold in Lubbock. If you do a google search, you can find that at least one of them was still showing up in the local newspaper in 1972 from the dealer (desperately trying to get rid of it). Mine was bought by a Tech student, driven for about 10k miles, and then left in a local repair shop in 1974 - my guess is after hitting a deer at a not-too-high speed. Then the shop was abandoned in 1975 and recently opened back up as part of an estate. I'll send pics when I pick it up next week.

My sedan was sold by Subaru of Lubbock???? Its a 1970 first sold & titled on 05/22/72! Send me the site address if you can? I have the dulicate org title as Texas is a title holding state & it had a lein on it at a bank in Sweetwater dated 04/26/72. It was bought by a dad for his daughter to drive while going to Tech, Who later moved to Odeesa & later sold it to the guy I got it from in the 80s. Could Middy be one of the two???

Here is the one in Lubbock discounted to $595:

I imagine that your is either this one, or perhaps one that ended up at a dealer in Odessa. Either way it looks like Middy has a long lost relative in Lubbock.

Hmm, mine isn't that close - it is K111L8307 with a lein release from the Bank of the West in Lubbock. You won't be able to get full screen access to the newspaper page without either finding a library with access or paying the web site. I just squinted.

Steven Thanks for finding this. Middy was sold after that ad! Thats amazing that the ad was found!! I don't have the skills to find things like that, but its really interesting how the 360s ended up in Lubbock which is miles & miles from anywhere, not a 360 drivers location by anymeans. But very interesting never the less. Ed my help on the vin#s

So, Oldone, do you feel like making a pilgrimage to the motherland to help start a 360 that's been sitting in indoor dry storage for 38 years? Oh, and bring an extra hood and headlight surrounds while you're at it.

Pull up Middy Smokes after many years of setting in open off Cotton Gin RD in Midland she purrs & smokes great!! Lets pursue the dealership thing. I think there are some really important things to do to a 360 before trying to start it. PM me before trying.

Great - I'll email you as soon as I pull it out of storage and get as much help as I can to bring her to life.

And thanks for the expanded ad - what a great team effort. By the way, $595 is $3,300 inflation-adjusted dollars. Which is still amazingly cheap for a motorcycle let alone a car.

I promise to pick her up within the week with many photos. I'm just amazed they had the keys and the title.
