I was able to salvage the brake lines and ditched replacing the old cylinders. After cleaning the brakes I was able to determine that brake shoes has still a good lining on them. I was able to buy rebuild kit from car quest for the rears perfect fit part# c7880 And for now I'm using cups part# c675...

Great input! I only considered the upgrade because this engine is SO tiny! But that is half the character of the vehicle as you guys said- so I will work with what I have. That van used to belong to Mort Smith. Don Harper customized it in the 80's. It used to sport scooter front tires an expansion chamber, reed valves of some type.
