Adding a Avatar (profile picture)

How do I add a avatar (a profile picture) All the pictures I try to use are to big.
click on user control panel upper right, then click profile on left,then click edit avatar on the left but first you will have to shrink a picture you have stored on your computer ...you can do it free here

to 80x80
then copy the url at the botom of the pic once it is created and upload it at the edit avatar spot in your profile area as mentioned above
