"Mark topics read"

#1 Post by Garm »

This feature doesn't seem to be working for me. Anyone else?

Topics are still bold, even after refreshing my browser (I don't keep a cache or history).

Did you just click on the Back button or did you return to the index by using the links above the topic name header?

Tried all those "paths"......here's a screen shot. My assumption is that "mark topics read" would unbold topics.

Mark topics read clears the unread flag (the orange or white if read pape icon in the circle) the bold topics you have listed i believe are announcements.

The topic subject text of announcements will remain bold read or unread.

Why are some topics bold and others not? What's the difference there?

Seem my graphic I posted. I don't think the bold ones are announcements and the non-bold ones aren't announcements.

Well, I just logged in from my computer.. and I have no answer for you.

I use firefox and every topic is bold on my screen as compared to your screen.

I'm not sure.. Perhaps your machine is interpreting the .css a little different. But I don't at this time see any rhyme or reason for the variation in the subject font.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the author of the bold ones are a site admin?

alright well at least it's a mystery to both of us.

I'll do some further experimenting. Might have something to do with whether I've POSTED in them, as opposed to viewing them or marking them read.

[edit] Nope.

I understand the "marked as read" flag now, thanks.

No problem.. Ive even tried to add you to my friends list and see if your posts changed anything..

I'm not sure.. I haven't seen a 'non bold' post ever.

What browser you using?

Yes, it's not related to who is doing the posting. I am using Chrome; I'll try IE7 now.

My guess is that you've seen a difference between chrome and IE.

If I place an answer to a thread, the topic heading always becomes non-bold.

- if that's any help... :?

A selection, although I always use Google Chrome to view this forum and Yahoo Auctions.

Also have FireFox, its derivative Pale Moon (64 bit) and lastly and most least used, MS Internet
Explorer.
