Hello all. I just got my hands on 3 of these little guys and looking forward to my new summer project. can anyone recommend a good shipper who can ship two or three of these down the left coast. If not... I guess I'm making a road trip in a week. cheers!

If that's near Port Townsend... then yes. I can't imagine there would be another trio of these for sale in Washington so it must be near there. Can't wait to play with them.

You'll have a hard time finding a transport company that's cheaper than making the drive and getting them yourself.

I know... I just picked my van up in CA (and i live in WA)
I did the math, made many calls, considered all options.
In the long run it was less expensive to get a trailer, and go get it myself.

Hope it works out for you and you can at least get one runner going out of that batch!
You did get a very good deal! (we were all watching.....)

Well... I guess I never do anything half arsed. My last project was restoring a 1967 B.S.A. Thunderbolt. The plan (so far) is restore one and play with another. I would like to make a 650cc conversion from a shaft driven motorcycle or a snow mobile engine, while keeping the stock look and preferably not losing the back seat if possible. Fortunately, I have a friend who works at Mitchell who can get me measurements on most motors and I can mock up possibilities in Pro/e or SolidWorks. We'll see...

Too bad... I could have picked up the van on my way up.

Thanks Steve, I did try your suggestion as part of ebay's ship quote. I get a lot of automated responses like: "Yes we can ship you 2006 Subaru Legacy for $800..."

It looks like I'm making a road trip with a trailer.

Subaru 360's wont fit on normal auto transporters due to narrow track width. You can put one in a full size PU bed and the other two on a 18' trailer if you hang each one off an end. See my signature picture below for reference. Look right here below.

When I picked up three in northern Indiana a few years ago, we used a goose-neck trailer. You'll find a picture of this on my website.

unfortunately, my Truck (a quad cab Dodge Ram), does not have a full size bed nor does it have a hitch for a goose-neck. I'm trying to find a flatbed trailer to rent 20'? to get the job done. Or (more likely as it's looking now) store one or two in Portland with family and shipping just one for now. ...I never look before I leap (or) watch out for needles before I jump into the hay. This should be a fun ride.

Hey, hey!! Both feet in? I like your style! I had mine halled on a rollback. Remenescent of a nat on an elephants back.

With proper tie-downs, I'm sure three (or four) would fit. How many miles are you talking? You may want to consider this: Find a local tow service who uses a roll-back where the cars are, have them hall it to point 'B', a mid-point. Contact (in advance) a local service at point 'B' to hall it home.

I was very lucky, the guy I bought mine from knew a guy with a truck and trailer. He hauled mine to my parents. Dad had the storage available. I looked at these pretty hard but shipping nearly coast to coast is cost prohibitive. Seems like you got a good deal. Welcome to the club, do they need pistons?

Looks like I'll be driving these down the first weekend of April. I don't know if the pistons are good or not. Out of three motors I'd hope at least one set is good. The second won't matter as I intend to swap the motor/drivetrain (sorry purists) and the third... well... let's just say I'm overwhelmed with just one. I'll post some pictures and ask for guidance once I know what it is I'm looking at in person.
