Hello all!

#1 Post by Woodstock70 »

Hello all! I’m a New 360 club member and owner. I found this little gem and couldn’t resist. I had never seen anything like it! We got it home, cleaned it up and got it running right away. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s all there, runs great, and I got a couple of boxes of random parts and a spare motor with it! Super excited to read and get tech tips on getting everything a little more cleaned up with it and can’t wait for the PA winter to come to an end, so we can take Woodstock out for some spins!download/file.php?mode=view&id=2590http ... ew&id=2593

Welcome to the club, Excellent find. I know because I evidently have woodstocks sibling. I'm calling mine DB-1. Do you have the roof and supports for woodstock? What part of PA? I'm in Charleston WV

Awesome! We're in Roaring Spring, near Altoona. It has a canvas cover that snaps in, more of an emergency cover than something you'd be able to drive with, but no roof supports.

Welcome to The Club! You have a very rare vehicle, the history is
detailed in an article in the BOOK OF REPRINTS which you can
download free if you have not already done so.

Either 24 or 30 were made, and only half of those were sold to the public!

But mechanically they are 360 sedans.

Thanks! That’s so cool, I still can’t believe that I found this under a tarp in an old friends driveway!

Yeah, I saw this one when I was looking around online trying to figure out exactly what I had found. Cool. I talked to an upholstery guy locally who said he had made similar tops out of boat top frames cut down for other small hot rods.

Thanks! I’ll be sure to look you up as I figure out what all might need some attention on this. I do have to do a little work on the brakes. It runs well, but barely stops!

You need to do a complete inspection of your brakes,
The BOOK OF REPRINTS index under BRAKE SYSTEM will
tell you about everything you need to know.
Subaru 360s that have not been driven for years
will need brake work - BUT not everything needs to be
replaced.
Start with the wheel cyls., they probably need to be
cleaned and new seals installed. Once they are done
and you are sure the shoes are good and installed correctly
you can put in new brake fluid and try to bleed the cylinders.
This will show up master cyl problems if they exist.
Rusty drum surfaces can be cleaned up on a wire wheel.
Grooved drums can be turned on a lathe
Worn out linings can be replaced by any COMPETENT
reliner, specs on this are in the book or e-mail me.

This car has the bows and no canvas.. for reference that is..

Image

Looks to be fairly simple to replicate as it follows the contours of the rear deck and body line

Probably not replaced after the canvas rotted - but it is possible
some did not have the canvas roof, I have never been able to
get an authoritative answer on this.
