#1 Post by Chinadon »

After a month and a half, I am finally in the Club!!! A big Thank You to Jaime Cavett for her help. I just got a 1970 Subaru 360 Van which is running, but will need a few minor parts. I am looking for the following;

1) rear door locking mechanism
2) rear hatch door locking mechanism
3) air induction tube
4)Original Shift Knob
5) 1 bracket for the sun visor
6) 1 window crank handle
7) 2 Wheel bearing dust covers

If you have any of the above parts mentioned, you can pm me. Thanks

Welcome to the club, thanks for hanging in, I think there are more trying to join, I hope the problem will be solved.
Nice looking van. The most problems with the rear latch is a broken plastic piece, that you can get from Shapeways, they 3D print them, less than $10.00

Thanks, I will look into that. I’m happy to finally be in the club.
Yea, I kinda got it to work. The top part works, but I can’t open the bottom door using the handle. I have to manually pull the wires to open the bottom door.

Try Shapeways 3 D printing,( van latch & van latch 2) By Lucky. Both pieces under $15.00, should solve your problem. :wink:

Welcome to The Club! Enjoy your van! I drove one like it for 40 years
and 2 months and if you give it preventive maintenance it will be very
reliable AND economical to drive. :D

Thanks Ed...Yes! I simply adore my van!!! It is now my favorite vehicle to drive and I absolutely love seeing all the smile and thumbs up wherever I go! When I pick up my kids from school all the kids in the school yard start pointing and laughing because it is so cute! Everyone is so amused and surprised that something so small could actually be street legal. I call it my Street legal go cart!

That’s so cool Jeff, there was a car show this past Sat and I just went to observe. Wish I brought the van. However there is one this coming Sunday that I might go to. I I do decide to go, I’ll post some pictures.
