Hello everyone!
After seeing my first subaru 360 sedan back in 2002 I was sold, I wanted one. So I got my first 1970 subaru 360 Young back in 2003 and started building my collection of 360 (Young, 2 restorable sedens, two parts cars, one truck, one van and one van flower planter) then I started to restore the Young, then life and starting our rental business took over and put a stop on the project. Now after 12 years we finally made time to finish restoring it and getting it back on the road. Can't wait to have it done and drive it again.

Welcome! That young looks like it's in good shape. Hopefully it will be an easy restoration for you. This club has some great knowledge floating around. You will have fun being part a of it. It is also nice to know that there are others just as looney as yourself that have also fallen for the charms of the 360. This is a life long disease. :)

Welcome to the club,
Stephen

Welcome! That young looks exactly like Spud. He's a young too and looks to be orange like yours. Is yours the original paint? It look to be in great shape and has most of it's parts.

It's mostly all original including the paint. Originally a California car so very minimal rust, just the usual hole in the battery box. We dove it quite a bit before disassembling it years ago an after tearing down the engine I'm glad we didn't drive it any further. The overdrive nut locking tab/plate was completely missing and the nut was dead loose. The primary drive gear was also starting to get a little loose. The engine had been rebuilt at some point in it's life as it has 1mm oversize Fuji pistons in it. We have plenty of spare engines for parts if needed so getting it back up and running shouldn't be an issue.

It looks like one van and one pickup have white parking light lenses which tells me the vehicles are Japanese imports -- or that someone over here got some Japanese lenses.

The flower planter van (which is rotted out beyond repair) and the pickup are both 68's which could be why they have white lenses. Neither of them have cab lights. The van also only has one rear side door, our 1970 van has two. A few other minor differences as well. All are left hand drive.

I agree. I've been saving what I can from it, even sold the back seat to another member.
