Hello from LA, new member with 1970 Sambar

#1 Post by aceykohrogi »

Hello Subaru 360 Driver's club members,

I have been restoring my daughter's 1970 Subaru 360 Sambar Van for last 4 years or so. I am down to just few parts and I am speaking to Ed Parcell for his advice.

I just retired from working as the Executive Director of Asian Operations for the Los Angeles Dodgers. I worked in professional Baseball for last 25 years and now work in Import/Export business with Japan. My brother Roy owned few sedans and belonged to Subaru 360 Driver's club. He translated some articles for the newsletter in the past. Roy is helping me with this project.

I did meet the man who restored both Sedan and Sambar for Fuji Heavy Industries museum in Japan. He still have a shop in Yokohama and have much sedan parts.

I do need rear drop down gate latch and passenger side rear view mirror for my Van. If anyone could help purchase one, it would be greatly appreciated by me and my daughter.

Thank you,

Acey Kohrogi

Welcome to the club. I don't have a van but there are several in the LA area and I'm sure they will chime in soon and offer their help to you. You have come to the right place and are talking to the right guy, in Ed, as he is the 360 Club founder.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I look forward to being part of the club.

Maybe I could help our members with parts from Japan. I go to Japan about 7 times a year.

I will have both of mine at a morning meet this Sunday in Woodland Hills. There is a post for it under Meets/Events.

I import a lot of parts from Japan, maybe we can work together. (received a shipment from Grazio & Co. just yesterday).
