Hi there, everyone...It's great to be part of the club!
I work for Subaru of America. I bought my 360 sedan late last year from a retiring dealer in Merrillville, IN. It's in pretty good shape. I told him I would take good care of it. It's in the SOA service shop right now. My goal is to drive it to the office a few Fridays this summer...good thing I only have to drive 2 1/2 miles! I bet it's been a long time since someone drove a 360 to work at SOA. The shop told me to find a carburetor. As soon as I can find where to ask I'll post a request on that one. Look forward to learning from the experts on how to take care of my car.

Congrats on your "new" 360. We have an SOA member as a 360 Club member and I will bet you she has driven her 360 to work a couple of times. What say ye Jamie.

Welcome to the club and congrats on your sedan, its gorgeous!
Why does the shop say you need a new carb?
Is it damaged or missing parts?
Many carbs can be brought back if they haven't been molested.
There are many good minds on here willing to help you get your sedan up and running tip top in no time..
Being semi local to you I'm also extending my hand if you should ever need any assistance.

Pay no attention to the man with no carburetor and welcome to the club !
Re: New member...Cherry Hill, NJ
Welcome! To start out with a car that is literally in "showroom condition" is a rare and wonderful thing - congratulations! AND you are in NJ - great!
Club founder and all-around 360 guru ED may be able to help with your carb, assuming all the parts are intact...
I hope that you have had the chance to download the "BOR", which is all the tech notes from 33 years of club newsletters. And the manuals, gotten from the link below...

Welcome to The Club!
I lived in North Brunswick NJ in Feb. 1975 when
I bought our 360 van in Jamesburg. Still drive
it every day.
Beware of Subaru factory-trianed mechanics working
on your 360! A guy from SOA management sent me
a sedan about 20 years ago that had been butchered
by experts in-house. They had cut the line to the rear
brakes and crimped it, so the rear brakes did not work.
They had cut the emergency brake cables too.
They replaced the front shoes and wheel cyls with parts
intended for pickup and van, which are too wide for sedan
drums.
And that's just for starters!
I have rebuilt at least 100 carburetors for 360s thru the
years, you can do it yourself with instructions from the
BOOK OF REPRINTS, read ALL the articles indexed
FUEL SUSTEM/CARBURETOR before you start.
If your carb is totally missing I may be able to build
you one from parts. E-mail me if this is what you need.

300,000+ miles on Subaru 360s since Feb. 1975, and have never (yet) been stuck on the road with one!
Re: New member...Cherry Hill, NJ
Thanks for all the responses so far. This is going to be fun!
This is the short and sweet prognosis fromt the SOA service shop. Honestly, I need to run over there and talk to them. Too busy this week (so far).
- We rebuilt left rear wheel cylinder that was leaking
- Adjusted and bleed brakes
- Adjust float level in carborator – need you to find us a used carborator– idle mix screw is wrong and carborator is running rich also need float that is damaged
- Adjusted clutch and levers on pressure plate to shift
- Drove vehicle around parking lot and right front is locking up so that needs to be checked
I'm in sales...that means my technical knowledge is limited, but this car is helping me get a bit more knowledgeable. I don't like the comment on the right front wheel...need to get more info on that.

Here is another pic of the car right before it was shipped out to me in December...
Re: New member...Cherry Hill, NJ
Hello & welcome from tornado alley!! That is a GREAT looking sedan, what a find. As Ed would say Ck the bor as a Datsun 1600 float & three washers under the needle & seat may cure your flooding problems.
