Hello All,

I was lucky enough to find a refurbished 1969 Subaru 360 Young S. I also wanted to say hello to everyone, and I look forward to working with all of you!

I am in the Allentown/LV area. I am a big one for pixs as well...The car seems to be in great shape... I went all the way to arizona for it  It runs great, all i need to do is bleed the brake lines, the brake pedal goes to the floor. Within the last 400 miles the brakes were revamped and master cylander rebuilt, so I am goign to bleed before I do anythign else... start small :)

Welcome to the club - what a great example you've got there! FYI you've got at least 4 club members within an hour or two from you, two in PA and two in NJ - myself included.

If you need any manuals see this page from my website. If you need the BOR, PM me for the link.

Best of luck (you seem to already have it!),
Steve

Thanks Steve,
I am very excited to be apart of this club and Subaru, I have been a long time Subaru owner, so this just tops the list :) I did get the 2011 BOR which has already been helpful. Thanks again!

Welcome to the Club from downunder, Patrick!

Nice vehicle - I saw a front bumper on Yahoo Japan auctions recently, might still be there (if you don't have one tucked away somewhere)

Cheers,

Ian

If you could point me to the right direction, that would be GREAT, i do have a normal 360 bumper I will soon post for sale, but still need the young for my car.

Thanks A LOT!

Patrick - welcome to The Club! It is not often I see a Young with the correct wheel covers, but your has them. If you want the hood ornament contact Burt Richmond in IL, he got some remade.

I used to have a lot of Young bumper ends, last one left about 10 years ago. Last new Young bumpers went to a member in OK about 20 years ago. But there are bound to be some around.

I went to see a member in Wynne AR back in 1981, George Benefield who was the first one in the Club with parts books. He has since passed away, but he had about a dozen 360s, all body styles, that he had restored. The Young bumper ends did not look like rubber, so I asked George about them and found he had hand-whittled them from wood and painted them black.

Thanks for the info, the car is 99% complete besides a few cosmetic parts. I will have to look this person up. I am new to this (obviously) So it will take me a few times around the block to learn about this forum. And to hand make bumper ends out of wood, thats a craft!

Hey Nice find! I remember reading about the previous owner putting that top together.. Nice to see it made it to a good home.

I'm just up Rt.33 from you and I drive my sedan all the time, it would be great to have another local to run with!

Hit me up if you need anything or any help getting those brakes stopping. and ofcourse you're going to have to bring it to the west end car show and line up..
I'm trying to get another owner in Windgap to finish his up by then too.

How wonderful!

Welcome aboard Patrick!! Looking @ the front of your 360....I'd say instead of putting a front bumper on, just paint the lips! Looks like one of those Chevron cars!! Lots of personality and a lucky find!!
You are in good hands here...we have Obi Won Kenobi (Ed) and a whole group of true-to-life 360 experts in this club (I'm certainly not one of those yet, but VERY VERY glad I know where to find them!!)

ENJOY!!!

Hey everyone, thanks for the welcome greetings. I have always been a subaru person, I currently am on my 5th daily driver subaru. This is my first 360, so I was luck enough to find one that needs minimal work. I am not very mechanical, I know what certain things are, I can change oil in a car and the wiper blades (LOL). But I would like to learn as I go along, and I am glad to hear you are all so helpful!

Hey Jon, Thats great!
I stopped in and spoke to the gentleman in windgap before I had purchased this one. WHen is the West end car show? And I have to ask, do you drive yours on 33 at all?!?!?!

Patrick - your expertise at changing oil will go to waste, since this procedure is never needed on your 360. All you do is ADD a quart of good 2-stroke oil to the oil tank whenever the light on the dash starts blinking (about every 300 miles on average) and the engine recycles it to lubricate itself and kill the mosquitoes in your area. If it's not smokin', it's broken 8)

LOL, I love that saying, I have seen it a few times already :) I am eager to learn about this car, I even just got my hands on the Chilton Manual for the Jap Cars from 1972 :)

I've had one of those orange Chiltons since I first got my van 37 years ago. Then I gradually acquired all the Subaru manuals and in 1981 got permission from SOA to reprint them, at cost, for Club members only. I still have some reprints left, they are also available online (free) and on CD (at cost).

I'll have to check the calendar I think its before the fair... maybe June...nt sure right now.

I have no problem with running on 33. Or 80 east into nj .for short runs... but I'm not at all that bright....

I forgot to say - look/ask locally first! - it comes of residing down here, where there are very few Sube 360s and parts are just as expensive to bring in from USA as they are from Japan (nowadays) !!

Cheers,

Ian

Could the Chilton stuff possibly be reproduced on these forums, Ed?
