Hello my name is Troy from Minnesota.

I was just given 2 1970 vans by my Dad. He used them for many years with his business Chalet Pizza. These vans were sort of icons since my Dads restaurant has been around since 1964. They have been sitting in a field for almost 12 years and I now have a business of my own that I want to use one of these vans to market my business.

From what I can see it looks to be a super helpful, super kind bunch of people that are associated with these 360's....

How great is that? Awesome! The retired pizza delivery history is rich too. I can't wait to see what you do with them. Welcome to the club.

Troy - welcome to the Club! What a great story, and you are about to write the next chapter. I still drive the 360 van every day that we bought in Feb. 1975 and it has never failed me. The Book of Reprints answers at least 95% of all the questions I get, and if you can't find an answer there I am as close as your e-mail.

Welcome to the Club from downunder, Troy!

These little vehicles have a positive effect on their owners you know.... :D

They must've put something in the metal when they made 'em!

Cheers,

Ian

Thanks everyone; I will try and post alot of photos and let you know of progress. As of right now I just ordered a master cylinder kit and need to get brakes working. It turns over but no spark.

First check the fuse/fuse block near the battery.

Next check themiddle fuse & connecting wires under the dash.

If still no spark see Wiring Diagram P. 31 in BOR

Thanks subaru360nut for the advice; I am focusing on the brakes before I make a real attempt to start it. I'll be less tempted to try and drive it and have to stick my feet out the door to stop.

Wow, If I had that van I would totally keep all of the business logos on there. They are really neat. Have fun and welcome to the club!

By the way, I pity you as you start on your brake job journey. These cars are great but that project is a total buzzkill.

So far I have the master cylinder cleaned up and left rear cleaned up, 2 down and 3 to go. Waiting on rebuild kits. So far no pitting and they look to be just clogged with dried up crusty fluid; everything is cleaning up good.

As far as the other van with Chalet Pizza graphics it will probably not be restored and left as is other than trying to get it running.

Re-create the graphics on the one you restore. It's too cool of a story not to do it.

Troy - I have wheel cyl seals, new special order from Raybestos (not NOS) for $2. each, all sizes, in case the kits you are looking at are a lot more expensive. E-mail me if you are interested, I can also e-mail you my 8-page parts list.

Welcome aboard Troy!! You'll find the folks here to be about the best group anywhere (everywhere)! I've been on here for almost two months and my brain is still squeaking from the vast amount of info I'm taking in... or I have water in my ear - either way, you are in good hands here. There are some VERY knowledgeable folks on here when it comes to anything/everything to do with the 360 lineup!

Enjoy!!

I rode in a weekly moped gang with a guy that had no brakes, just lag bolts screwed deep into his military boots, sparks would shower 30 feet from his soles. It was impressive.

Yep. And Uphill Battle, I've ridden with the swarm a few times in the Summers. They think 1977 Puch's are really old, until I show up with 1959 and can keep up. Blows lots of minds.

Awesome. I've been to a few rallies and there's nothing cooler than 200+ mopeds cruising through town blowing smoke and making noise. It's quite a sight.
