Hello from Pennsylvania

#1 Post by budzinsk »

Hi Everyone. i am a new owner of a 1968 sedan from Dillsburg PA. I got the car for a fun winter project. It has been sitting for years in a airplane hanger. The interior is shot but the body is very solid - a rare find for Pennsylvania! I am in the process of resealing the engine and hopefulling putting new rings in it to freshen it up (if I can find rings). I will try and post some pics. Are there any members in the central PA area?

Thanks,
Rob

Ooh nice, another '68! What's your VIN?

Rings are available -- one of the few parts that are.

Welcome, it's a great club and the best resource for the car anywhere!

Welcome to The Club!!

If/when you put new rings in be sure to follow the break-in instructions and you will get 100,000 miles at least out of the engine before the next overhaul. See P. 140 & 261 in Vol 2 of Book of Reprints.

Eastern and Central PA is a hot spot in general for 360's

This region is where I have found all of my 360's The one i have right now is from Lancaster and the one I had before this was from York.

Don't forget SOA started out in Bala Cynwyd, PA. ( Suburb of Philly ) :D

Thansk everyone. Here are some pictures - the floors and really the whole car is very solid. It was repainted orange many years ago. I am glad rings are available. I have studied the BOR, but where do we go to find out if we can get parts? It sounds like there is somekind of stash for members of the club, who do we contact for those parts? Also, for ones that are still available through Subaru, what is the best way to order them? Thanks so much!

Very nice Rob.
It looks like a good solid example.

The 'Secret Stash' is spread all around the club..

Some members have bins full of spare parts that they forget about until they are asked for.
The best thing to do is simply ask and see who responds..

But many members dont even vist the online site or arent as active as some of us.

Those members are best contacted by mail at their addresses easily found in the newsletters.

Rob - thanks for the VIN, I'll add it to the master list I have been creating, please e-mail or PM me so I have your last name. I list owners and State after each VIN # that we have.

Hi Everyone. I got my 360 running today. Thanks for everyone's help. It still needs some brake adjustment, but overall it drove well. Now the body work starts!
