Re: Greetings from Orlando!
If your car still has the original gearshift knob, it will tell you if it's a three speed or more likely, a four speed. The three speed is highly sought after by many members. I don't recommend mixing bias and radial tires. However, you may not have any spare unless you keep a bias for that purpose....

Re: Greetings from Orlando!
The last set of tires I bought came from Tires-Easy at (877) 253-6191. If I remember correctly, they were Dutch tires (Vredestein or something like that.) They've been on my truck for about a year and seem to be fine.

Re: Greetings from Orlando!
For tires, you'll need to decide whether you want to stay with the original bias ply (4.80 x 10) or go to radials (5.20 x 10.) There are no tires made in a radial whitewall (damn) so if you want whitewalls you'll need to stay with the primitive technology of bias tires. I'd recommend that you run bl...

White Post is very spendy! Look for a cheaper resleever. (Maybe the one in Upland, CA .... can't remember the name.) Look on the lock for a number (like F650.) Kyle, The NOS hinges I have (not latches) are those pictured on your van, just above the holes where the tail lights go. If yours are good, then I would not replace them. Kyle, before buying any parts, you're be well advised to: (1st) Go out and spend hours completely familiarizing yourself with your van. Write down every question that comes to mind and make a list of the parts you think you'll need. (2nd) Go visit someone (or several someones) who have a van and pic...

Re: New member - IL - Looking to learn and buy
The van in IL looks about average - for an Illinois vehicle. If there is no rust in the floors, I'd say it's worth $2500 - $3000. They turn up occasionally so you should not get crazy over this particular vehicle. I assume it does not run, so it will be that much more difficult for the owner to sell...

Hi and welcome! First, figure out which model you want: sedan, van or pickup. Then, buy the very best example that you can(or cannot) afford. Then, plan to chase parts almost indefinitely, as there's not much in the way of parts to be had. Keep spending money you don't have for paint, chrome, etc. F...

Get the very best 360 you can, without much regard to the price. The price you pay to dig out rust or replace irreplaceable parts or paint it or upgrade upholstery will pale when compared with having paid a little more for a better vehicle. Ask me how I know.

Kyle, As a long time 360 nut, I feel an obligation to help out newbies whenever I can. I just looked up "Subaru 360" on ebay and see there are 38 pages of stuff that won't fit the car: disc brake calipers, 15" hubcaps, 16 pc seat cover sets. etc. Does anyone know if there's a way to actually access parts for the 360 without scrolling through 38 pages of bullshit?

Check & polish the rotor, points and distributor contacts. Make sure you get some new gas; gas that old will almost certainly foul the carburetor. Turn the engine by hand to see if it's free before you start cranking it -- or put it in 4th gear and rock it to see if it's free. If you get it runn...

I wouldn't recommend any 360 for the kind of use you're talking about. They can be made pretty reliable but there's still the comfort factor. No A/C, tight seating area, etc. That particular truck has had a lot of body work; when I had it, it was red with a lot of dents. It was pretty much rust-free...
