I was able to salvage the brake lines and ditched replacing the old cylinders. After cleaning the brakes I was able to determine that brake shoes has still a good lining on them. I was able to buy rebuild kit from car quest for the rears perfect fit part# c7880 And for now I'm using cups part# c675...

Re: New to Subaru 360 forum and have been offered a truck
Other observations. The bottom side doesn't look too bad but in the shot of the battery box you can see that the edge of the opening is also rusted away and painted over. Painting over rust and bad body work leads me to believe that the paint was not part of a restoration but either to prevent any m...

Re: New to Subaru 360 forum and have been offered a truck
Looking at the pics I'd have to wander how bad the rust is. Mine looks way worse on the surface but It doesn't have that much rust through in the doors. I would figure the bed to be very bad also given the condition of the bottom of the door. Gas tank too. I'd want confirmation that the pics show al...

Say it aint so. Didn't Oldone send you some rockers? There's a company here in the states that makes Dune buggies but more importantly makes complete frames/ pans for VW bugs. I wish my shop looked like that. Mine is currently a mess after recently moving and building a new garage. Welcome to the club. Nice looking van. Power train really isn't that bigga deal. Looks like you have a lot of the hard to find stuff. Like a nice body. Those are some pretty cool previous projects. I too have done a vw bug though and a datsun two pickup restores 72 and 75. 30 years ago.
