Facebook seems to be the easier place to post and ask questions, these days.

Re: Another Newbie! 1970 Sambar owner

Thanks everyone for the welcomes! I am located in Michigan. This Sambar was listed on this site a little bit ago. It is from Indiana. I am from Muskegon! Welcome to the club! I’ve been slammed busy for the last couple months, so I put my current restoration on hold for a minute. I had hoped to have...

Re: Hello from Socal

Welcome aboard! You're in for a fun ride. I don't have a van but maybe someday. I have a sedan I am rehabbing to tow behind this little rig. Ultra Van.jpg The Ultra Van is SWEET! I would LOVE to have one! My parents had a 1973 GMC Glacier Motorhome when I was little. I like the Ultra better. Sent f...

Re: Hello from Socal

It’s looking great! They look tons better in their original color also. I take it you don’t have to have a front plate there? I had the bracket taken off my truck when I restored it also. I think it looks better without the plate up front. (Besides, who needs all that wind drag from a plate)?! [emo...

Re: New member unable to join????

Wayne,

If that is what he was told, that is VERY troubling. Who sent him the money back? Who told him this? I use this forum daily, (over Facebook). I find it to be very useful.

Re: New 360 Van owner, Michigan

The worse thing you could do is cover it with a tarp. It holds the moisture in, like a greenhouse.

Re: New 360 Van owner, Michigan

DeLee, Where in Michigan are you? I am in Muskegon, and have just a few parts left. Not sure what things you need, but I am restoring a truck right now. I have a 69 Pickup, a 70 pickup, a 68 Hot Dog Vendor, and my brother has a MINT 68 Van. If you need any help with things, let me know. Thanks, Jon

Re: finally joined the forum! in Winsconsin (on way back to OR)

That's the worst oil tank I've ever seen also! WOW! Mine had the mounting lug broken off also, and 2 or 3 other cracks as well. I repaired all of them with a hobby torch and a soldering gun. The nice part about the plastic on those tanks is that you can heat it up to melting point and it will re-bon...

Re: finally joined the forum! in Winsconsin (on way back to OR)

It looks like the oil tank is there at least. If it just leaks, you can fix that with a common soldering gun. As far as the other stuff, it looks like the parts van has TONS of good parts!

Welcome to the club David! I'm sure you will find endless resources here to get that little bugger on the road. Hope you don't plan to drive it all winter in Cedar Rapids! I know it gets pretty darn cold there. I renovated the Crowne Plaza there (Downtown Convention Center) a couple years ago, and I...

With all respect, it would be very hard to do that with every post. Some things on these vehicles are interchangeable. The poster would have to know what models the post applied to, and maybe some don't know. Besides, if someone posted about something that they didn't know was applicable to other mo...
