Re: need help identifying exact year of my mini so i can get parts.vin# k153L2288

The BOR will show you which of the 4 distributors you have. ANY of the 4 can be used in ANY Subaru 360 engine, but the parts are not interchangeable from one of the 4 to another. If the '68 (3-speed) has the HITACHI on P. 100 see the CLASSIFIEDS in the current newsletter for points etc. Points for H...

Re: need help identifying exact year of my mini so i can get parts.vin# k153L2288

I checked the master list and this is the second lowest VIN I have for a pickup. That means it is PROBABLY a '68, if it has a 3-speed transaxle it is definitely a '68. Some items are different for the '68 but look at P. 27, 28, and 100 in the BOOK OF REPRINTS and you will see all the points and cond...

Re: Hi from Orlando

Rob - welcome to The Club! Thanks for VIN, new to my master lis.

Your VIN says it is a '69 (some parts changed from '69) but fairly
early '69 since most has glass rear windows.

Nearest VIN K111l 4253 is also owned by a member in FL,
nexr K111l 4265 is in IN.

Drove it every day, loved it!
At 81 I could still get out and get under -
just couldn't get up again.
So it is thriving with its new owner

Re: New Club Member with Dune Buggy 360

Sorry, just saw the question - Dune Buggies were made in Brea CA out of 24 or 30 (depending on who you believe) 360 sedans that Uncle Mal got as part of his termination by the company he founded, SOA. Mal never paid for the work so half were GIVEN to Brea HS for the auto shop, and the other half sol...

Re: New Club Member with Dune Buggy 360

The orange car in the pix way up the page is a Cheesebourger, made in Tucson on a pre-68 Sambar chassis. If a dune buggy has wipers that park to the RIGHT it is on a Young chassis. If they park LEFT it's a sedan chassis. That is the one item that gives it away regardless of seats, front hood, or oth...

Re: Wrong hand drive in Melbourne

That's why the 450 was phased out, EK-32 had more horsepower and torque.
If you could find an EK-33 that would REALLY make it faster.
But mill 0.050" off the heads of your EK-32 and you will gain torque.

Welcome to The Club! You have a very rare vehicle, the history is
detailed in an article in the BOOK OF REPRINTS which you can
download free if you have not already done so.

Either 24 or 30 were made, and only half of those were sold to the public!

But mechanically they are 360 sedans.

Welcome to The Club!
Until you find an original air filter, go to a Motorcycle store
and get a small air filter that goes right on the carb, 1 7/8 ID

It is not a good thing to run a 360 (or any engine) with no air filter
installed.

Some members used to cut the back off the piston and use cups instead of the original seals. To do this you MUST put a spring behind the cup to hold it against the piston. If yours is missing the spring you MAY be able to correct it - go to NAPA and get a wheel cyl kit 15/16" - if they have one for ...

If you are over about 5' 10" hold out for a van.
You can tip the front seat back with longer
extensions on the sides for more headroom if
you are tall. Pickup cannot be altered in this
way as the seat already contacts the back
wall of the cab :(
