Re: Hello from Oregon!!

The rear brakes may be stuck because the parking brake has been on all those years and the cables are stuck. Do not try to pull the drums until they will turn freely. With the parking brake OFF try moving the flexible sections of each cable back near the rear brakes. Sometimes that will get the cabl...

Find the reliner who has been around the longest in your area.
One member used a reliner who put too much hear on the aluminum
shoes and melted them!
You shouldn't have to tell a shop that they are aluminum, but do it anyway

not been cut, 3/16" if they have been cut.

Re: How to locate Vin Number on 360 sedan

"matching numbers" means nothing on a 360.
The VIN for a sedan is K111L-(4 or 5 digits)
The only thing that matches it is the title

Engine # is not important and is nothing like the VIN

"matching numbers" is in a class with "very rare"
and "less than 100 imported"

I forgot about the foam under the skid plate - it appears to serve the function of absorbing the transaxle oil that seeps out of every 360 power unit :D Obviously the metal skid plate protects the underside of the power unit from objects flying up from the road, and the foam does very little of that...

Your sedans were made in 1970, but sold and were first licensed in 1971 which is why your titles say 1971 - but do not argue with the DMV, just know that the parts for your cars are 1969-70 (some '68 parts are different) The least expensive way to get your seats upholste...

'70 was last year of 360 sedan production, R-2 replaced 360 same year. Also, truck & van body was changed mid/'70, to non-suicidal doors among a few other things. The reason there are some '71 Subaru 360s is that they were leftovers sold and first licensed in 1971. But anyone with a '71 should use '...

The BOR will show you which of the 4 distributors you have. ANY of the 4 can be used in ANY Subaru 360 engine, but the parts are not interchangeable from one of the 4 to another. If the '68 (3-speed) has the HITACHI on P. 100 see the CLASSIFIEDS in the current newsletter for points etc. Points for H...

I checked the master list and this is the second lowest VIN I have for a pickup. That means it is PROBABLY a '68, if it has a 3-speed transaxle it is definitely a '68. Some items are different for the '68 but look at P. 27, 28, and 100 in the BOOK OF REPRINTS and you will see all the points and cond...
